Based on previous usage, we are able to closely predict how often someone will need a new product or service. Let’s use automotive service for example. When someone gets his or her oil changed, that information is recorded in the the service department's database. The next time that person brings in their vehicle for an oil change, that information is also recorded. With this knowledge, we can forecast when this person will need an oil change again or a 30,000 mile checkup or a new set of tires (based on the time period and number of miles they drove previously) and send them a time predictable service reminder.
